Welcoming Our New CFO

Benchmark is pleased to announce the appointment of David Gold, CPA, as our next Chief Financial Officer. David will begin on March 9, 2026.

A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, David brings more than 41 years of broad-based financial and operational leadership experience across education and nonprofit organizations. He joins Benchmark from ESF Camps & Experiences, where he served as Chief Financial Officer, providing strategic oversight for a multi-state organization. Prior to ESF, David served for over two decades as Chief Financial Officer at The Haverford School, where he led all financial and administrative operations and played a key role in major capital initiatives. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer of Federation Day Care Services; Chief Financial Officer of the Philadelphia Education Fund; Finance Director of PATHS/PRISM: The Philadelphia Partnership for Education; Controller of The Foundation for Architecture; and Audit Senior with Arthur Andersen & Co.

We share all best wishes to our outgoing CFO, Joe McPeak, who will be retiring in March. During his tenure, Joe brought new ideas the business office. Among his many accomplishments, Joe helped us map out a new compensation model, made investment improvements, and created a savings/spending plan for  maintenance work.

David Gold comments, "I feel so fortunate to be joining the team. I’m eager to get to work and support the impactful initiatives already underway. I look forward to learning from you all and contributing to the Benchmark community!"

Welcome, David!
