Who We Serve

Learners We Serve Best

Benchmark students are bright children in grades 1-8 who often have one or more learning differences. While we believe that all children could benefit from a Benchmark education, we have tailored our curriculum around supporting students who need particular help with:

  • Dyslexia
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • Dyscalculia
  • Dysgraphia
  • Executive Function
  • Specific Learning Disability

Some of our students have no formal diagnoses but they find Benchmark to be a place where they learn in a way that works best for their own personal strengths and areas of need. Regardless of a child’s diagnosis or disability classification, our Admissions Team considers each child’s application thoroughly and engages in a detailed assessment.

Learners Who May Benefit from a Different Program

We know what we do well and focus our efforts on accepting students who match our mission well. For this reason, there are some needs our program is not designed to meet:

  • We do not admit students with diagnosed primary behavioral or emotional issues.
  • While we provide personalized student time and small group instruction within the classroom, we do not engage in long-term pull-out remediation.
