Benchmark School Students Help Those in Puerto Rico Affected by Hurricane Maria

MEDIA, Pa. (January 12, 2018) – On December 19, Benchmark School students and staff came together as a community to collect and donate more than 700 pounds of nonperishable food, hygiene products, and household goods, along with 50 postcards full of positive messages, to Puerto Rican families who were affected by Hurricane Maria this past fall.  Read More

Michael Baime, M.D., Director of Penn Program for Mindfulness Presents at Benchmark

(November 2015) An audience of 300 from all over the Delaware Valley filled the A. Palmer West Performing Arts Center on November 9 for a fascinating and informative presentation on mindfulness from alumni parent (Edwin '12) Michael J. Baime, M.D., Director of the Penn Program for Mindfulness at the University of Pennsylvania. During his presentation, "Mindfulness for Life: How Learning to Strengthen Attention Creates Lifelong Benefits," Dr. Baime discussed the value of mindfulness practices, citing that a number of studies that have shown how mindfulness has improved working memory, decreased feelings of stress, and helped individuals feel more present and balanced in their lives. This event was sponsored by the Benchmark School Center for Empowered Learning.
