Supporting Benchmark Scholarships:
Pennsylvania Educational Income Tax Credit Program (EITC)

The State of Pennsylvania makes millions in benefits available for your company and Benchmark’s Scholarship Program.

Pennsylvania businesses can now make a gift to Benchmark School that will give them a 90% Tax Credit towards the PA Corporate Net Income Tax (CNIT) as well as other applicable taxes. In turn the tax liability becomes a donation to Benchmark's Tuition Assistance Program, so that a Benchmark education can be made available to students regardless of their financial circumstances

Here’s how it works:

  • Apply to the Department of Commerce and Economic Development (DCED) for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC). Forms are available on the following web sites: www.paschoolchoice.org and www.inventpa.com. Or call the DCED office at (717)787-7120.
  • Designate a gift to the Benchmark School Scholarship Fund through the EITC. By applying the donation as a tax credit against your PA State Tax you will save as much as 90% in PA Tax and receive a Charitable Deduction on your Federal Income Tax.

If your company pays one of the following taxes, it is eligible for participation in the EITC program:

-- Corporate Net Income Tax (CNIT)
-- Subchapter S Corp./Personal Income Tax
-- Bank & Trust Company Shares Tax
-- Title Insurance Company Sales Tax
-- Insurance Premiums Tax
-- Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
-- Capital Stock Franchise Tax

We hope you will review this opportunity with your business tax advisor. Your support of the Benchmark Scholarship program through EITC will enhance our ability to educate the bright, struggling readers who otherwise would not have the advantage of this first-rate education.
